Getting to know the club's FIFA20 tournament representative Jamie Boxall

Ahead of the club's first clash in the FIFA20 Ultimate QuaranTeam tournament, which pits the Addicks up against Scunthorpe United, we caught up with the club's representative for the competition, Jamie Boxall.

Charlton's opening game of the competition takes place at 7pm on Sunday, March 22nd. A live stream will be available on the club's YouTube page.

On his background in general and in FIFA...

"I was a born Charlton supporter so I was very keen to get involved and represent the Addicks as a bit of fun. It's been interesting realising the pressure of the expectation and hopes of fans. I don't want to let anyone down and will do my absolute best. I have even been practising with some other supporters ahead of it all!

"My first FIFA game was FIFA98 on the PS1, I've had every single FIFA since on the PlayStation.

"I always used to love a career mode with Charlton over the years but had some good stints with Blackburn, Newcastle and Boston United."

On his favourite team to play as...

"Favourite team to play with was the FIFA2005 Charlton. Dennis Rommedahl out wide, Matt Holland & Danny Murphy in midfield, Darren Bent and Jason Euell up front, Francis Jeffers on the bench."

On his favourite player to play with...

"In modern times I've been having fun with McGeady's special St. Patrick's Day card on FIFA20 Ultimate Team as he is a 5* skiller which is an important feature to have in the current metagame. He also has 93 pace."

On his ability...

"I normally finish Gold 1 in the competitive FUT Champions which is somewhere between 17 and 20 wins out of 30 games played but I usually stop playing after 25 or 26 games.

"No matter what happens I'll give it my all to take us as far as I can!"

Charlton's first game will be streamed on the club's YouTube channel at 7pm on Sunday, March 22nd.

The tournament is also looking to raise funds for a number of causes including helping other football clubs who are struggling due to fixture postponements, EFL's chosen MIND charity and the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fundraiser set up by the World Health Organisation.
